Like honestly, except them YOLO's people, who would drive across the country to reach Singapore just for the sake of a limited edition regional burger? Me. Maybe, if i got a lot of times and money but seriously, it will be a big disappointment if the taste is not per what I expected.
So, yesterday, I saw this article on Facebook, share it with my boss and fellow colleagues, hoping for them to give it a try, lol. And today, we went to Bowery, located just 100m from the office to give this freaking NLB a try.
I thought, unlike the McD Nasi Lemak Burger, there will be the Nasi: the rice, as in the phrase 'Nasi Lemak'. NOPE.
The waiting time for this burger to be prepared is 24 minutes. Pretty long time for a 'Hangry' girl like me to endure. At least, the presentation of this burger is wayy better than McD's one. This Bowery's NLB doesn't look fast food much in real life. When I wrote in real life, means it doesn't go too far from my expectation lah. The bun does look better and 'Bunner' than the McD's. Though it kinda too dark, pretty over cooked but the bun is a real deal, not too spongy like those from KFC and McD.
First photo snapped once arrived. This doesn't look like a fast food much..
Taste-wise, boleh tahan. delicious enough. Decent sambal, not too spicy, not to bland, but a bit lacking in Kaw-ness, perhaps no belacan added and too little caramelized onion that supposed to sweeten the sambal, naturally. But it is sedap. Pardon my picky tastebud.
HINT: This combo of bun and sambal taste like Burger Malaysia. IYKWIM
See this egg, once you poke it, it goes oozy..
See..
The chicken is juicy. Dang.
It may not as crisp as the breaded McD chicken. But don't judge. Like human, maybe ugly on the outside but blessed with a good heart. Haha. Juicy chicken meat, properly fried and doesn't taste like a frozen packaged chopped chicken. It tasted fresh and convincing.
See, wet enough to enter
and the banana leaf in the promotional design looks nice.
