Review: KZ ZST Pro Hybrid Dynamic & Balanced Armature In-Ear Monitor (IEM)

I have this kind of obsession with audio definition thingy. I'm always on my earbuds piece to the point that it's hard to focus at my workplace without them. This is my first time trying IEM. What is IEM? In-Ear Monitor is the one musician use on their ears while performing, or the one that the music compositor use while doing their stuff. And what's the deal with balanced armature?

Balanced Armature drivers are usually the one inside hearing aid piece. Tuned to sound good and detailed for specific frequency range because of the electrical currents work inside them. #Science #Physic. And there's also Dynamic drivers. Unlike balanced armature, Dynamic drivers are built to cater entire frequency range so that it will sound natural to your ear.

But the KZ ZST that I bought is a hybrid one with dual drivers inside it making it so fucking thick but combine the defining qualities of both balanced armature and dynamic drivers.

KZ ZST Pro

UNBOXING

I bought this piece at LAZADA for RM 57.80. Quite cheap for an IEM. Honestly my first impression was like "Bet this thing is just like China low quality products". I was wrong~

Plastic wrapped packaging.

The packaging size is just a bit bigger than Xiaomi's piston earbud's packaging.

Impression-wise, the color of this product is sooo nice. The blue-purple color looks like oil spill - iridescent and lustrous when seen from different angle. KZ ZST also available in Black Color, which is more expensive as the production is limited.

Clean packaging.

Look at the electrical parts, wires, coils I don't know. I read that this product is cheap because of it's cheap production labor and it's low effort on marketing. Sounds sheepish.
Like usual, China's product comes with low-key faulty English user guide.

Unboxed packaging.

The packaging comes with 3 type caps (S,M,L), Cord without microphone and controls (to reduce cost), 2 piece earbuds (Left & Right) and the user guide.

PHYSICAL FEATURES

Like most of IEM piece, it is fucking bulgy fatass piece. The earpieces are purposely not attached with the cord so you can change either one of them (?) Weird. The material of the cap is rubber type, so it attracts dust, unlike silicon caps.

These holes are super duper tight. People call them virgin. (Haishh)

WARNING: SOMETIME IT WILL BE SO HARD FOR YOU TO INSERT THE CORD PLUG INTO THE EARPIECE!

But fret not, nigga. If that happen, just scrap off some gold plating on the tip of the cord plug. #Genius. Most of the time, you wont face this problem. Don't worry.

Pardon my English. I'm so American #Freedom #Eagle

I don't even used them and it's already collecting dust. Hmmm

The cord is see-thru type. AND it also attracts dust.
Maybe it is meant for sports i guess, so this thing comes with shapeable wire that make this thing fixed on your ear.

Bigass right?

And you'll probably will guess that since it's big it won't be that comfortable. RIGHT! Unlike Xiaomi's piston earbuds that's fit excellently between your ear concha and feels like nothing when you sleep on your side, this earpiece is not suitable to be wore when you lying by your side.

VERDICT

Tremendous Value for Cheap Stuff. This thing is probably the best thing after my AKG. And after all, it is fucking cheap. RM 57.80, 13.46 US$ cheap / 0.00217₿.  #CheapStuff #CheapThrill #Blessed

D.O approved. #KokobopPassed

Hyper SICK Bass
.
I experienced the difference between ordinary earphones and IEM (there a lot more better IEM out there for me to tryout tho). You know that feelings on your body or heart (lol) when you hear The Weeknd ft. Eminem's  The Hills Remix on big speaker or bass booted car speaker, with this KZ ZST you can experience it too! 9/10

Badass Definition of Sounds.
Tryout the fairy sparkling chime sfx intro of Flume's Never Be Like You or  Massive Attack's intro of Unfinished Sympathy. Vocals also a lot clearer and feels more natural with this KZ ZST compared with Xiaomi's piston. 9/10

Isolate Noise Nicely - I can't even hear my own fart
I'm sure with this earpiece, I will annoy my next-chair colleague, Ah Fei to alert me with his hand gesture whenever my boss call me. (对不起) 8.8/10

Comfortability - Hmmmnn.
Let's not talk about this. But I still care to give this 5/10

Acoustic Bombastic.
This is why In Ear Monitor (IEM) exist. Listening to Ryan Cabrera's True, I can hear all the acoustic details in the sound, the crisp chord change sound on the guitar and the percussion metal shaker. #NOICE 9/10

CONCLUSION: TOTALLY PLEASE BUY THIS (HERE)
